ABOUT GENE Palmer

Born and raised in Southern California. Based and grew up in Northern California. My first brush with doing hair was in the Navy in 1990, where I styled a diverse crew of more than 1,000. I moved to San Francisco in 1993 and in 1994 I received the Honor to apprentice at Vidal Sasoon. In 1996 I joined the exceptionally talented group at Oxenrose in the heart of Hayes Valley. While there I studied with Master Educators Goldwell as well as Toni and Guy.

I then had a chair at the Bella Union in the hair mecca of the Lower Haight for nearly a decade. Throughout my career I have been so grateful to be in the presence of so many talented hair artist, all of whom have and continue to inspire me, Thank you all.

In 2011 I established 'Ohana Hair Studio in the Mission District of San Francisco!

I am forever finding inspiration in my clients, friends and the creative scenes near and far.
